About the role

Are you passionate about helping people find a home? The Private Sector Enagagment Officer role is all about matching people in need of housing in Gloucester to the right home for them.  You will be part of the Housing Projects and Strategy Team. The team deliver key projects for the City Council alongside delivering more homes and working with partners on more effective use of both new and existing housing stock to meet the City’s housing needs.  Private Sector Engagement is a vital element of the team’s work. Officers working with private sector landlords to provide homes that allow the council to meet its housing duties, and supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies

The current market and level of demand for housing makes this extremely challenging. Homes. The team works at pace with both lanlord and the Housng Services team to deliver outcomes. We see ourselves as at the cutting edge of best practice continuingly looking for innovative solutions and work in a highly collaborative way. 

This post offer an exciting opportunity to continue this important work. In this key role, you will be responsible for finding new private sector supply, using the existing Landlord Incentive scheme to help procure private sector properties, ensuring good quality accommodation is provided, working with landlords and tenants to ensure new tenancies start successfully and are sustained, ideally leading to continued lettings with the landlord.

 

About you

You will be great at building relationships quickly and able to work with a diverse range of stakeholders focusing on areas of alignment that help deliver the aims of the role. You will demonstrate the the ability to manage caseloads, ensure information is gathered, stored and organised to ensure process compliance and high quality outcomes. The role is a hybrod one, with desk based work in the office or at home alongside site visits, taking part in face to face meetings and appointments.
