An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the bereavement services team at Gloucester Cemetery and Crematorium, we are a small friendly team operating within the public sector providing a catering facility to bereaved families and the general public, we are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead the Bereavement services catering team in the day to day running of the facility on site.
Main duties will be the supervising and effective operation of the wake/café service, this will including opening, closing and being responsible for the safety and security of the facility, carrying out staff 121’s, the daily duties will include:
- Preparing and serving food and drink
- Taking wake booking
- Liaising with stake holders and suppliers via phone and email
- Cash handling
- Cleaning
- Weekly Rotas
- Raising and paying orders through a inhouse system
- Ordering produce
- Handling all health, safety and complaints
Attention to detail is essential as this is a key role in ensuring all food is presented to a high standard
You will be dealing with the bereaved in often stressful circumstances, it is therefore essential that you have a high level of empathy and good communication and customer care skills including a good phone manner.
Annualised hour will be between the hours of 9:00am -7:00pm
Essential requirements along with those mentioned on the job profile
- 2 years Microsoft Office experience and computer literate
- 2 years Experience Supervising staff
- 2 years Catering experience
- Full UK Driving licence is preferred
