About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Team Leader to join our Housing Services Team, focusing on Part 6 Allocations of the Housing Act to lead frontline delivery of statutory housing service within a fast paced and challenging operational environment, that is passionate about delivering person centred, trauma informed support.
You will be responsible for overseeing allocations policy implementation, managing the Choice Based Lettings (CBL)process, and leading a team delivering fair, transparent and legally compliant access to social housing.
Importantly you will work collaboratively with Registered Providers of Social Housing.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of the allocations system while balancing housing need, demand pressures and customer expectations.
What we need from you
- You should be able to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the housing legislative and regulatory framework
- Strong experience in allocations, Choice Based Lettings (CBL) and housing register either in a local government setting or registered provider.
- A sound understanding of allocations law, policy and best practice
- Proven people management experience
- Confidence dealing with sensitive, complex and contested cases
- Coach and support team members to grow in confidence, resilience, and skill
- Excellent communication, judgement and organisational skills
