About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, positive, and innovative professional. We are building on our solid financial management to ensure that we meet the financial and non-financial challenges currently affecting local government. Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, and based in the Finance & Resources service, you will be jointly responsible for leading, developing and motivating a team of seven.

 

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operations of our finance applications and associated procedures, provide high quality financial support to the Financial Services Manager and the Senior Management Team and will work with senior colleagues on high profile corporate projects to help the Council achieve its priority outcomes. An appreciation of the challenges facing local government finance will be supported by your ability to report financial information clearly.

 

What we need from you:

In this role, you will lead alongside your equivalent Accountancy Manager in all aspects of the finance service for the Council. Your vast knowledge of finance systems and implementation of systems will be valuable. You will understand budget setting and financial planning, with the ability to report.

 

You’ll provide excellent support and robust challenge to the Council to ensure the highest level of service provision. You will be flexible in your working style, able to prioritise workloads and cope well under pressure. We expect you to be a CCAB/CIMA qualified accountant with a history of successful people management and outstanding communication skills.
