About the role

 

Come and work for a rewarding organisation, joining our friendly, and supportive Planning Development Team to manage a diverse range of planning applications. Gloucester is a historic and regenerating city ensuring an interesting and varied caseload. You will also provide planning advice to the general public, developers, applicants and other council services. Training and support will be given.

 

This role is perfect for a graduate, or someone taking their first steps into their planning career. You will gain the invaluable experience of working in an historic city environment. This role is open to job share. 

 

 

What we need from you

 

You will need to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills. Attention to detail is essential in order to process applications accurately and effectively. You must be committed to upholding the planning system and be enthusiastic about good design and place making.

 

Candidates must want to get the best outcomes from their cases to ensure Gloucester can develop in a sustainable way that makes our resident’s lives better.

 

You will need to be able to work effectively with internal and external consultees and be able to present complex information in an accessible way with great report writing skills.

 

The role requires you to be proficient in the use of technology and have a good overview of the planning system.
