An opportunity has arisen for a Residential Night Support Officer positions in a Children's Home providing short breaks to children with disabilities.

 

18 hours per week (2 x 9 hour shifts 10pm until 7am with the possibility of a relief hours available).

 

In addition to the salary, there is also a night allowance which will be a third of your hourly rate for the time between 10pm and 6am.

 

About The Team & Role

 

The position involves providing care and support to children with a range of health needs and disabilities during the nights that they stay with us. You will also underake duties and tasks identified as well as participating in planning and implementing children's care plans. You will be working in an established and friendly team in a home from home environment at night, while another member of the team sleeps in.

GCC provide a training and development programme which is available to all teams. You will be expected to attend mandatory training and team meetings as required for the role.

 

About You

 

To be successful you will need to be child-focused, dynamic and flexible, able to work within a team as well as use your own initiative. You will need to have effective communication skills to be able to communicate with the children that use the service as well as with your colleagues and you will need to have some experience of working with individuals with disabilities.
