About the Roles & Team
The Area Finance Team is busy team providing training, financial advice, support and practical assistance to schools throughout Gloucestershire.
The role involves working at an operational and strategic level with school finance staff, visiting schools throughout Gloucestershire to offer 1 to 1 finance support and training. You will be delivering training sessions to school finance staff, head teachers and Governors. Training is delivered on site at the school, at Shire Hall and via a virtual training platform (MS Teams). You will also be visiting schools throughout Gloucestershire to undertake finance tasks due to sickness or a vacant position in a school. We run a dedicated helpline, which you will be manning with a colleague one day a week.
Our team support schools with their finance tasks and strategic financial planning
The role is for a permanent contract for 28 hours per week, Term time only with 1 inset week and 2 further holiday working weeks spread through the year,41 weeks per year, with a prorated salary.
The full time equivalent of 0.6827 or 0.6981 (if currently employed at GCC with 5 years’ service).
About You
We are seeking a, self-motivated, dedicated professional with proven experience in accounting procedures and customer care.
Experience of school’s finance – FMS & Bromcom Finance software is essential.
Experience of working within a school finance setting is essential.
Experience of working across a variety of school types is desirable
The successful candidate will have proven financial experience and ideally hold or studying for full or part AAT qualification or equivalent
The candidate MUST hold a full driving licence and have access to a car during all working hours, please DO NOT APPLY if you do not meet this requirement.
