Adult Education in Gloucestershire as part of Gloucestershire County Council have exciting opportunities available for Variable Hours Tutors (VHT) and offer excellent rates of pay!


You will have a passion for digital and computer literacy. You will be a skilled and experienced tutor who is comfortable creating course materials, drawing on their expertise delivering high quality digital courses for beginners and intermediate levels.

You will work with the Learning Coordinator to help drive the ICT & Digital Skills provision strategy.

You will already have experience delivering short courses and workshops in Microsoft Office applications and digital skills and you will be able to teach others how to do so with ease because of your experience delivering in this subject content. You will have respect for and understanding of Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection as well as being committed to promoting inclusion and British Values.

You will be able to communicate effectively through different mediums, including spoken and written communication, have a flexible and responsive attitude and a willingness to innovate and demonstrate self-motivation.

You will have a proven track record of classroom delivery, effective planning & teaching and experience delivering subject content.  You'll be a self-starter with a passion to learn and grow yourself and will bring passion, dedication and positivity to your new role.  You will be a reflective practitioner with the ability to self-appraise and manage continuous professional self-development.

Essential Criteria:

You will also have a relevant teaching qualification equivalent to PTTLS Level 3 or EATA Level 3 as a minimum.

The Computer & Digital Skills Tutor will have the ability to:

• Identify the individual needs of learners ensuring all learners have an individual learning plan which links to their long-term employment goals
• Engage and motivate both individuals and learner groups to increase retention
• Complete all of the necessary administration e.g. registers, enrolment forms, ILPs, lesson plans and SOWs
• Work effectively and efficiently with the Learning Coordinator to produce innovative and stimulating lessons for learners to encourage participation whatever level the learners are starting from
• Teachcomputer and digital skills that can be used to apply for jobs and to equip with the skills that will be necessary in many occupations
• Effectively plan courses and lessons by preparing and using schemes of work and lesson plans for all classes for the benefit of the learner and for evidence at inspection/lesson observations
• Develop and deliver high quality, learner focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with Adult Education in Gloucestershire’s policies and procedures, supporting learners to ensure the best outcome for them
• Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
• Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
