We are looking for a supervisor to join our equipment refurbishment team.

 

We are growing our team and have a new opportunity for a full time Senior Refurbishment Officer to join our team at GIS Healthcare in Mitcheldean in the Forest of Dean.

 

 

About the Role:

 

GIS Healthcare plays an important role in supporting the care sector in Gloucestershire. We are responsible for the distribution, delivery, collection, maintenance and minor adaptations of medical and telecare equipment to support people being discharged from hospital and to help people to remain independent in their own home.  The service is delivered on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council and One Gloucestershire. 

 

The main responsibility of the role is to supervise, and line manage a small team of staff that refurbish, build and scrap community medical equipment. This can include routine and specialised community equipment ranging from walking frames, mattresses to specialised cots and seating.

 

The responsibilities are:

  • Day to day supervision and mentoring of a small team of equipment refurbishment specialists.
  • Assign, coordinate and supervise daily work activities for the Refurbishment Team assuming responsibility for completion. Raise any staff issues for resolution.
  • To undertake the training and development of team members.
  • Work collaboratively with the Refurbishment Lead to ensure the business runs efficiently and safely.
  • Review working practices to identify inefficient or unsafe work procedures or problems and initiate corrective action, as necessary.
  • On site Health & Safety monitoring, compliance with legislation and assisting with site operations. Assist and support with accidents, incidents, and damage reporting.

About You:

 

We are looking for someone who has worked in a production or refurbishment environment and has supervisory experience. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working within a production or refurbishment environment.
  • Experience in administration and using administrative management systems.
  • Experience of supervising staff.
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Customer focus and experience delivering excellent customer service.
  • Experience working in a busy environment.

 

Transferable skills from other sectors: Warehouse or Manufacturing
