The Library Service provides a vital source of entertainment, information and support for tens of thousands of people across the County.  We provide a range of service ranging from the provision of books, free access to the internet, accurate information available freely and activities to help children develop and to enjoy themselves and the written word.

 

How you’ll help make a difference...

 

Library Assistants are the public face of the Library Service, you are responsible for ensuring that our users have access to all the services that the Libraries provide this will include helping them choose and issue books, maintaining the stock in the library, helping providing activities such as baby, bounce and rhyme, the summer reading challenge, supporting springboard groups of older users.  You’ll need to master the Library ICT systems and be able to offer basic advice on the use of computers and tablets to those who require it.

 

What we need from you …

 

Most importantly we need you to be able to give our customers an excellent customer experience every time they visit.  You’ll need to able to understand the range of services that we provide and be able to judge which users could benefit from them and to signpost those services to them appropriately.  Organisation skills, working with volunteers and other partners will help us keep the Library running effectively.

This role is based at Dursley and Wotton-under-Edge Libraries

Week 1

Tuesday Wotton-under-Edge Library 10-1

Thursday Dursley Library 10-4

Saturday Wotton-under-Edge Library 3.5 hours in the morning (times tbc)

Week 2

Monday Dursley Library 10-2

Tuesday Wotton-under-Edge Library 10-1

Thursday Dursley Library 2-5
