About the team

Gloucestershire Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and is administered by Gloucestershire County Council. The Fund has c.200 participating employers and over c.70,000 active, deferred and pensioner members. Our aim is to provide an accurate and customer focused service to our members from joining the scheme to retirement and beyond.

 

You will be joining a friendly team with flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

 

About the role

We are looking to recruit a Senior Pension Officer within the Pension Fund’s Operations Team.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • To calculate, process and peer check retirement pension benefits, death benefits, spouse/partner pensions and child pensions
  • To calculate and provide pension estimates
  • To calculate, process and peer check transfer cases
  • To calculate, process and peer check divorce cases
  • Provide technical support for Pension Officers
  • Assist with the implementation of new legislative changes
  • Provide members with accurate scheme information and support with their queries

About you  

To be successful you will:

 

  • Have experience of working in a Local Government Scheme Pension Fund team
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of the LGPS Regulations
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Be able to effectively manage workloads, prioritise cases and meet legislative deadlines
  • Have good IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office and a Pension Administration platform
  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills
