About The Team & Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the council’s People Services Team as a Human Resources (HR) Support Apprentice.

In People Services, we support the organisation’s workforce, culture and employee relations. We lead on areas including recruitment, training, policy development, employee relations and change management. 

As an HR Support Apprentice, you’ll help make a difference by providing administrative support across People Services, supporting the full employee lifecycle. 

You’ll provide a wide range of administrative and general support to each of the teams in People Services, including Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Traded and Shared Services and Pay and Reward, giving you broad experience of different areas of HR. You will support colleagues and managers with HR processes and help provide guidance using HR policies and employment legislation. 

Alongside this, we will support you to study towards the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship Standard.

About you

You will: 
•    Be confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows Internet Browser. 
•    Bring your strong verbal and written communication skills to provide a wide range of support to colleagues and managers. 
•    Bring your creative problem-solving skills and have a flexible approach to challenges.
