Are you compassionate, empathetic, caring, and hard working?

Are you looking for a career where you can make a real and meaningful difference to the lives of others, but you are not able to commit to a permanent role? Then we would love to hear from you!

About the role:

Joining as a Multi-Site Relief Care Worker is a fantastic career choice that allows you to do just that! We are currently looking for Relief Care workers who are active, kind and respectful to join our multi-site relief staffing team. You will work across the Adult Social Care in-house services within GCC, to supplement existing care teams when required, to ensure the quality, safety, and effectiveness of the service.

Whilst you are under no obligation to accept shifts, we do ask that you are committed to supporting our permanent teams by working shifts where possible. Relief Care Workers are crucial members of the team that ensure consistent care across the in-house services during busy periods, when permanent staff are unwell or on leave and they do make the world of difference - seeing a friendly and familiar face is so important to the people we support when permanent team members aren't available.

Our Services are continuously evolving, and as such, this role and related responsibilities may be subject to minor change. Please email ASCrecruitment@gloucestershire.gov.uk to arrange an informal discussion

About you:

You will be experienced in supporting or working with vulnerable people, ideally adults in a care setting.

You will use your strong communication and listening skills to communicate effectively with a range of people in a clear, open and easy to understand way. You will treat the people you are supporting with compassion, dignity, respect and empathy. You have a positive attitude and can confidently deal with challenges and problems that may arise.

You will have a Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care or be willing to undertake it. You will also be willing to undertake the Care Certificate learning as part of the induction programme for the role.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do and how we treat each other. They provide essential guiding principles about the way that we work and set the tone for our culture, and identify what we, as an organisation, care about:

Accountability - we do what we say we will

Integrity - we are honest, fair and speak up

Empowerment - we enable communities and colleagues to be the best they can

Respect - we value and listen to each other

Excellence - we continually improve through listening, learning and innovation

If you hold the same behaviours and approach, then we want to hear from you! In exchange, we will provide you with full training and support to help you succeed in your role.

About us:

This is a great time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as Adult Social Care is on an exciting innovation journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths-based and person-centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make the Difference’ to our local communities.
