We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic social work graduates to join our next ASYE cohort. You will come to this role having completed your final placement as part of your degree and will use your developing skills of analysis, critical thinking and effective communication to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to secure the best outcomes for children, young people and families across Gloucestershire.

About our ASYE Programme
Our celebrated Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) will support you to grow and develop your practice alongside experienced Social Workers within your team. You will be mentored and guided as you build your knowledge, confidence and decision‑making, working with a protected caseload throughout the programme.

Next Steps
When you apply, you will be invited to attend an assessment day to explore your interests. ambitions and experience in Children’s Services so far. This takes place at our Social Work Academy in Gloucester and includes:
- a written assessment based on a case study
- a panel interview
You will need:

to be due to complete your social work degree and final placement before the end of September 2026

to include your Practice Educator as one of your referees

a full driving licence and willingness to drive for work

a satisfactory Enhanced DBS
-
to obtain Social Work England registration in time to commence the programme in October 2026
If successful, we may also offer you the opportunity to start earlier in a pre‑qualified role while awaiting your SWE registration, prior to joining the ASYE programme in September 2026.
