About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and dynamic leader to join our Adult Social Care team as the VCSE and ASC Partnerships and Prevention Manager.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development of partnerships between Adult Social Care and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector, driving forward prevention-focused services that empower people to live independently and improve health and wellbeing outcomes.
The role will involve:
- Leading strategic engagement with the VCSE sector to co-produce community-based preventative services.
- Identifying service gaps and supporting targeted grant funding to improve equity and outcomes.
- Managing funding mechanisms, including the Thriving Communities Grant.
- Supporting and developing the Know Your Patch Networks to amplify community voices.
- Collaborating with commissioning, public health, and integrated care teams to align prevention priorities.
- Acting as the principal point of contact for the VCSE within Adult Social Care.
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of community partnership initiatives.
You will be based at Shire Hall in Gloucester, working as part of an agile working offer, which includes working from home combined with time in the office and travel throughout the county.
About you
You will have proven experience working within or alongside the VCSE sector, ideally in a commissioning or partnership role. You will have extensive experience working in Adult Social Care and a strong understanding of Adult Social Care’s preventative responsibilities and the VCSE funding landscape.
In addition, we are looking for someone with:
- Experience in commissioning and/or grant-making.
- Understanding of charity governance arrangements and the different charitable structures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative, innovative mindset.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to turn policy into practice and deliver impactful community solutions.
- A passion for community empowerment.
