Would you like to work in a role which is both meaningful and rewarding, where you really feel that you make a difference? Do you constantly look for ways to improve the way you work and enhance the service that you deliver? If so, this is the perfect role for you.
This is a great time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as Children’s Social Care is on an exciting journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths-based and person-centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make a Difference’ to our local communities.
We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided). We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need. We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.
About the Team and Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced administrator to join us on a full-time permanent basis with the Reviewing Service Business Support Team in Children’s Social Care. The role sits within the Strategy Hub and Allegations Management Team.
The role of the Strategy Hub is to ensure that we have timely and accurate records of meetings arranged to discuss safeguarding concerns about vulnerable children in Gloucestershire. This supports prompt decision making regarding intervention from Children’s Social Care and our partner agencies which include Health, Education and Police. The meetings are held virtually via MS Teams and the role of our administrators is to arrange the meetings, take contemporaneous minutes and distribute them via secure email.
The Allegations Management Business Support team works alongside the Local Authority Designated Officers to ensure that we have timely and accurate records of meetings arranged to discuss allegations made against professionals and volunteers who work with children in Gloucestershire. This supports prompt decision making and intervention.
About You
We are looking for an administrator who has excellent minute taking skills and an understanding of working in a confidential office environment. You will have strong IT and communication skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach with an ability to manage your workload to meet deadlines. The nature of the work is handling highly sensitive information which can sometimes be distressing so resilience is also key to this role. You will be working with internal colleagues at different levels of the organisation as well as our partner agencies from Health, Education and Police. If you are proactive and enjoy working within a team to provide support to colleagues to meet targets and deadlines then we look forward to hearing from you. Why are you perfect for this role and what will you bring to our team?
About Us
In return we will offer you:
- Regular formal and informal support.
- Safe, supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.
- Access to relevant training and career progression.
- Annual leave of 25.5 days (pro rata) up to 30.5 days (pro rata) after 5 years employment.
