- Job Location: Hospital Educ Serv Outpatient Team Base
- Salary: MPS or UPR
- Hours per Week: 1.0FTE but will consider 0.8FTE
- Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role
Gloucestershire Hospital Education Service (GHES) is looking for an outstanding teacher of maths to join their existing teaching team. Ideally we want this as full-time but will consider part-time at 0.8FTE.
When students are too unwell to attend their main school, and all reasonable adjustments in their school have been exhausted, a referral will be made to the Local Authority. GHES is one of the education providers that students may then be referred to, to provide education. We offer the core subjects plus PSHE, Art and some other subjects whilst they are with us. As soon as they are well enough we support their reintegration back to their main school.
Teaching is mostly online for KS3 and KS4 students, with more face to face for our Primary students. And so anyone considering this role will need to be flexible with teaching in a students’ home, in our classroom space or online, and understand that this arrangement is constantly changing as we accept referrals on a weekly basis.
If you have never considered teaching in Alternative Education Provision this may be the opportunity you are looking for to apply your teaching skills on an individual or small group basis, and being able to make a difference to every child you work with. This is a hugely rewarding role and the successful candidate would find themselves working in a team of highly motivated and creative teachers. The role still has a small element of peripatetic work and requires travelling across the county to visit children in their homes or more likely to teach in one of our classrooms in Cheltenham. Most lessons are online in small groups, and any candidate would be expected to embrace the use of technology and online learning for this teaching role.
We serve the county of Gloucestershire, and students can be located anywhere within that. Therefore, it is essential that candidates hold a full driving licence and have use of a car.
