About the role
Mockingbird, a global award winning programme led by The Fostering Network in the UK, delivers sustainable foster care. It is an evidence-based model structured around the support and relationships an extended family provides. The model nurtures the relationships between children, young people and foster families supporting them to build a resilient and caring community.
Key elements of Mockingbird are peer guidance and support for foster carers, children and young people have sleepovers with foster carers they know, training and development for foster carers and regular group activities for children, young people and their carers.
Mockingbird in Gloucestershire is overseen by a Liaison Worker who is an experienced Supervising Social Worker working within the Fostering Service. You will work closely with the Fostering Service Manager and you will offer supervision and guidance to the Hub home carers within the Mockingbird programme along with support to sustain and progress each constellation.
There are currently two constellations in Gloucestershire and we will be launching two further constellations within the next few months. You will have access to wider support and training for this role from The Fostering Network.
You will need to have a current Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
