We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided).  We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need.  We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced business support administrator to join us as a Senior Finance Business Administrator within our Central Services Team. This is a permanent role for 30 hours a week.  The successful candidate will focus on spend within the Disabled Children’s Team and look at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of how payments are processed.  Payments are made in a variety of ways including direct payments and invoices, therefore a good understanding of finance processes would be essential to this role.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Administration Lead and a second Senior Business Administrator.

Duties will include:-

  • Oversight of all Disabled Children’s Team spend, including quality checking and tracking
  • Processing invoices
  • Bank payments
  • Supporting projects for improvement
  • Creating monthly reports for all spend
  • Analyse data and trends
  • Offer leadership cover when appropriate

About You

You will have proven experience of financial processes and the ability to create and analyse reports.  You will have evidence of strong oversight of processes and performance with excellent communication skills.  You must have a flexible approach with the ability to manage your workload around competing priorities and to meet deadlines

If you think that this is the role for you we look forward to hearing from you.  Why are you perfect for this role and what will you bring to our team?

In return we will offer you:

  • Regular formal and informal support.
  • Safe, supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.
  • Access to relevant training and career progression.
  • Annual leave of 25.5 days (pro rata) up to 30.5 days (pro rata) after 5 years employment.
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Staff discount scheme that offers access to great savings including discounts with major supermarket chains and high street retailers.
