About the role
Gloucestershire Hospital Education Service is looking to appoint a dynamic, experienced and motivated School Operations Lead. This is a new role for GHES – the team is growing and this appointment is crucial to them being able to develop their curriculum offer, and part of this is a need to find new premises to deliver this from – this could ultimately be anywhere in the county.
The role will initially be based in Cheltenham County Offices to support our outreach team and those who teach in Gloucester Royal Hospital, but we hope within the next 12-18 months we will have had the opportunity to move to more suitable premises. The role will involve working with our whole team, students, parents and other professionals associated with our students, along with staff from the facilities, ICT and site teams in GCC.
Working Monday to Friday, approx.8:00am to 4:00pm for 39 weeks per annum, 37 hours per week. With an additional 4 weeks during some of the school holiday time to enable work to continue when students are not on site.
The School Operations Lead will contribute to strategic development as well as leading and managing functions such as financial management, HR, Premises, Administration and Health and Safety.

About You
We are looking for someone who can:
- Play a key role in overseeing the non-teaching aspects of school development, supporting the school in providing an exceptional learning environment and experience for our students.
- Be an associate member of the senior leadership team, taking the lead responsibility for the strategic development and operation of the business functions of our school which includes financial resource management, ICT and information management, facility and premises management, health and safety, human resources support as well as statutory compliance
- Demonstrate outstanding business management practice
- Have experience of leading and managing teams and act as an exemplary role model with experience of appraising and developing others
- Be successful in financial management including income generation initiatives
- Be able to communicate effectively with staff and visitors and work competently with a range of professionals
- Be self-motivated and have personal drive to complete tasks to required timescales and qualify standards
