An opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join the Children’s Service Programme and Project team as a Project Manager (fixed term up to 31st March 27, grade 10).
About the role
Gloucestershire County Council’s Children Services are working on ambitious Improvement and Transformation Programmes across Children’s Services. This role will be central in overseeing the implementation of key projects across the service. Enabling us to improve the lives of our children and young people across Gloucestershire.
We are looking for a Project Manager who will:
- Develop, lead and oversee ambitious projects, to deliver areas of work such as system redesign, remodelling of services, preparing for inspection and culture change
- Act as a positive advocate for improvement and change with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
The successful candidate will work closely with a range of senior managers across GCC and partners’ organisations.

You will join the Children’s Service Programme and Project team based at Shire Hall in Gloucester, working as part of an agile working offer (which includes working from home combined with time in the office). About you
You will have proven experience in managing complex projects, along with a desire to progress these skills further. You will be highly organised, able to work flexibly and at pace, as well as delivering consistently to high standards and able to influence others. Ideally, you will have substantial experience working with senior managers and you will have experience of working within Children’s Services.
You will be expected to work to deadlines and deliver work at pace that requires attention to detail. Delivering in a collaborative and timely way is essential.
