About The Team & Role:

 

You will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects from inception through to design and construction. You will ensure successful delivery that offers value for money, safe and sustainable solutions, and achieves targets set.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for the managing a team who will work together to successfully deliver projects. You will lead the financial and contractual management of projects, with particular emphasis on delivery within time and budget.

 

You will pro-actively take a engineering lead in the delivery of projects to aid the quality delivery of all aspects of the programme and ensuring projects offer value for money whilst delivering the aims and ambitions of the authority.

 

You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with project managers and other GCC stakeholders.

 

You will line manage and mentor a team of engineering staff to ensure their wellbeing and professional development needs are met. You will ensure that the team works in accordance with current design and contract legislation, standards and guidance and applies health and safety regulations including the CDM Regulations 2015.

 

About You: 

You will have a strong understanding and appreciation of the importance of road safety and sustainable travel.

 

As a seasoned professional with the ability to manage diverse highway engineering projects, including walking, cycling, junction improvements, road safety etc. You will have significant experience in producing design solutions through all stages of design, preparing contract documents, working with contractors and applying the CDM Regulations.

 

You will expert knowledge of design legislation, standards and guidance and be able to derive innovative solutions to complex challenges. You will have skills and experience in managing relationships with stakeholders to provide expert advice, negotiate and collaborate to deliver schemes. You will have experience in managing resources including staff and budget to deliver projects that meet quality, cost and time objectives.
