About the Role & Team

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Performance and Improvement Officer to join our amazing, high calibre team for two years, initially. We feel privileged to work together and do what we do. We look forward to meeting you, with all of your individualism that you will bring to the team, helping us to continue to broaden our insights, skills and experience.

Your role will have a key focus on supporting the Journey to Good for Adult Social Care, ensuring that frontline processes are understood and improved, where required, reporting metrics are clearly defined and add value to telling our performance story, and that performance and risk messages are clear and enable strong operational management and strategic oversight. You will also play a pivotal part in supporting actions arising from inspection outcomes relating to performance. Good project management skills and professional curiosity relating to processes and performance will be essential in this role.

About You

You will need to be a creative problem solver and have a 'can do' attitude. It is important to understand the work that our services do, to identify key lines of enquiry and areas of concern within performance data. To do this, being a quick learner with a curious mind will be critical.

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic person to join us. You will need excellent collaboration and communication skills, to enable you to work closely with stakeholders within the service to identify change and improvements and to co-produce performance dashboards which meet the needs of relevant stakeholders. You will also need to be diplomatic, personable, assertive and challenging, to support strong independent assurance and governance relating to data and performance.

This is a highly autonomous role, established experience in performance and business improvement is therefore essential. You will need to have a proven track record of delivery that is on time, to a high standard and which has had a tangible impact in improving business processes and performance.

About Us

We are a flexible and agile working organisation. We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing. We promote a supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.

For all your hard work, you will receive the following:

  • Flexible and agile working opportunities
  • 25.5 days annual leave rising to 30.5 days after 5 years continuous service
  • An option to purchase 10 days of additional leave per year (pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Family friendly employer offering benefits to help support you and your family
  • Career development and qualification opportunities
  • Supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision
  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
  • An in-house Occupational Health service
  • Employee discount scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&Cs apply)
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network.
