About The Team & Role:

The Information Management Service is looking for 3 Information Requests Officers (2 permanent, 1 fixed for 12 months) to join the Requests Management Team. As an Information Request Officer, you will be responsible for dealing with requests from people wanting to access their personal data. They may have a complex personal story, involving foster or residential placements, with people coming into their lives for brief periods. This right of access can help to fill in significant gaps in their stories and help with unanswered questions, providing information that may have been missing or inaccessible to them previously.

As part of a dynamic team, you will also be responsible for managing other types of information requests, such as those made under the Freedom of Information Act, ensuring that all responses are issued in full compliance with legal requirements.

About You:

You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with both requesters and key internal stakeholders. Your ability to engage professionally and empathetically will help ensure that individuals have a positive experience of the service.

You will need a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, particularly when working to conflicting statutory deadlines. This includes accurately tracking progress, identifying potential delays early, and ensuring that all requests are handled in a timely and compliant manner.

The role requires you to manage your own caseload independently, using established processes and systems to support your workflow.

About Us:

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad, hands-on insight into how the council operates across a wide range of services and functions. We’re proud to support career development and offer regular supervision, training, and opportunities to grow. Join us and be part of a team that’s passionate about delivering high-quality services to our communities.

For all your hard work, you will receive the following:

  • Flexible and agile working opportunities
  • 25.5 days annual leave rising to 30.5 days after 5 years continuous service
  • An option to purchase 10 days of additional leave per year (pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Family friendly employer offering benefits to help support you and your family
  • Career development and qualification opportunities
  • Supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision
  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
  • An in-house Occupational Health service
  • Employee discount scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&Cs apply)
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) Network and the Young Employees Network.
