Our vision:

Right child, right support, right time, every time

Working together to support families and communities to give every child the best chance of a happy and rewarding life, especially those who need more help.

Gloucestershire Children’s Services are improving. Our latest Ofsted inspection (February 2022) identified that:

“Significant progress has been made in many areas of Gloucestershire’s children’s services… significant financial investment and the backing of political leaders, has led to improved services that are now more effective in meeting the needs of children and families’.

In June 2023, our JTAI outcome evidenced further progress:

“Most children living in Gloucestershire who are initially identified to be in need of help and protection receive a swift and appropriate multi-agency response from the ‘front door’. Senior leaders’ strategic partnership is strong, and this mature relationship is supported by effective governance in the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (GSCP). Senior leaders on the executive board have appropriate oversight and knowledge of the effectiveness of multi-agency safeguarding arrangements. Their commitment to a continuous learning culture results in proactive intervention to improve services for children.”

About the role

This is a critical strategic post that focuses on continuously improving social care practice. The successful candidate will oversee our child protection chairs and independent reviewing service, our impressive social work academy, a comprehensive and developing quality assurance approach, our outstanding participation team, and the GSCP business unit.

You will be a part of a highly supportive and collaborative senior leadership team, and a fantastic team of well-established service managers within the Quality Assurance remit.
