About The Team & Roles

We are looking for finance officers to join our busy systems and management accounting teams at Gloucestershire County Council. We are a large finance department, and these roles will provide the opportunity to develop and build on your experience. The successful candidates will be willing to learn and work effectively and efficiently both individually and as part of a wider team. You will also have strong IT and communication skills.

 

Management Accounting Post

The post will involve working in the management accounting team providing essential financial support to our budget holders alongside your finance colleagues. Your role will be to assist and challenge managers within this difficult financial environment following our financial procedures and guidance. Candidates will have some experience and knowledge of variance analysis, forecasting budget spend, financial modelling and planning.

 

Systems Accounting Post

This post involves working in the Systems Team on the maintenance and development of the finance systems, BACS payments, Treasury, and managing the Councils corporate business cards.   The role also covers many areas of finance from journal preparation and posting, producing business reports, and being involved in supporting work on various projects as required.

About You

You will need to be studying for an accounting technician qualification (AAT) or equivalent, or a graduate with a finance degree. Full training support will be provided to achieve CIPFA qualification, if desired.
