As an Employment Specialist with Connect to Work, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic programme that provides personalised, one-to-one support to individuals who need it most, empowering them to move into sustainable employment and build brighter futures.
About the Role
Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub offer a one-stop source of information, advice, guidance and support around employment and skills. Working with a range of partners and employers in localities across Gloucestershire the Hub delivers 1:1 support through a number of programmes for people with barriers to sustaining or retaining work, as well as advice and signposting for any resident looking for help.
As an Employment Specialist, you’ll work in localities to support individuals from diverse backgrounds who face significant barriers such as disability and long-term health conditions to find and maintain sustained employment. You’ll build strong relationships with participants, helping them identify suitable job goals through vocational profiling and personalised employment plans. You’ll also work closely with local employers and support organisations to create inclusive opportunities, using your knowledge of the local labour market to match people’s strengths with real job opportunities.

You’re someone who brings creativity, initiative, and a strong sense of purpose to your work. With a customer-focused mindset and a solid understanding of employment policies and welfare services, you’re confident supporting people with health conditions, disabilities, or other barriers to work, whether through professional experience or lived experience. You’re driven by outcomes and thrive in a role where you can make a real difference. Your ability to negotiate, influence, and build partnerships will be key to helping participants achieve their goals and succeed in the workplace.
