Are you ready to make a real difference in how Gloucestershire prepares for and responds to emergencies? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Emergency Planning Officer to join our dynamic Emergency Planning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the resilience and safety of our communities.
About the Role
- Develop, maintain, and test emergency and business continuity plans.
- Deliver training and exercises to internal teams and partners.
- Provide expert advice and support to tactical and strategic officers.
- Represent the council in multi-agency forums and during live incidents.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
About You
- Knowledgeable about the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and emergency response frameworks
- Experienced in coordinating emergency response at a tactical level
- A confident communicator with the ability to influence and lead across all levels
- Resilient, adaptable and calm under pressure
- Skilled in writing clear, effective plans and delivering engaging training
A degree or professional qualification in emergency planning or a related field is desirable or equivalent experience in emergency management.
