About Us

Our Corporate Fleet Unit (CFU) is an ambitious, fastgrowing and forwardthinking team supporting both Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) and Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service (GFRS) with everything fleet and equipment. Every day is different, and our work is exciting, varied and essential to keeping our communities safe across the county of Gloucestershire.

 

Our workshops are based at Waterwells in Quedgeley, where we carry out mandatory inspections, maintenance, and repairs on fleet vehicles & Equipment. We also manage external supplier support and oversee lease, pool, and hire vehicles, ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations.

 

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver to join our vibrant team. This is a handson, varied and rewarding role where you will:

- Drive a wide variety of vehicles across GCC and GFRS locations

- Support equipment and vehicle changeovers, ensuring everything is right first time

- Carry out basic safety checks (AdBlue, bulbs, screen wash etc.) – full training provided

- Help ensure vehicles and equipment are ready, clean, safe, and compliant

- Deliver excellent customer service across multiple teams and departments

Training & Development

- Support to achieve a Category C (HGV) license – desirable on application but development opportunities can be offered.

Reporting Line

You will report to the Workshop Manager and Equipment Supervisor.
