About The Role
We have a role available for a Contracts Officer with the Logistics & Resources Department of Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service.
- Your commercial knowledge, communication and influence skills, will be respected by managers across the organisation at all levels. You’ll provide guidance and support on a wide range of procurement and contract management issues.
- You will run assist with the tender process and commercial management of goods and services contracts, ensuring compliance with council and legislative requirements.
- You will produce analysis and contract management strategies that enable the very best services and goods to be purchased with value for money and consideration of social value and climate change. You will see your work making a difference for people in Gloucestershire.
About You
- You could be someone with commercial management, procurement or commissioning skills and experience. You could have a contract management or maybe even a legal background, within local government or the public sector.
- You will ideally have knowledge of public sector procurement policies, procedures and systems as well as relevant legislation and regulations. Highly organised and analytical, with good IT skills, you’ll be ready to meet demanding targets, timescales and budgets. You also have strong communication and negotiating skills.
- You may have a category specialism already, but this role will give you opportunity to further develop this and broaden your skill set into other category areas.
