About The Team & Role:

 

At Gloucestershire County Council, we are dedicated to managing the dynamic world of street works, a front facing service to control and manage roadworks across the county, with the aim of minimising disruption whilst allowing highways to be maintained and utilities to provide the essential services we all rely on.

The Council is looking for a Compliance Manager, a varied and pivotal role, to support the management of Street works across the county.

Reporting to the Traffic Manager, the Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the performance of Statutory Undertakers/Works Promoters operating on Gloucestershire County Council’s network. The role will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations and ensures that all works activities undertaken on the Council’s highway network are legally compliant.

You will work closely with various stakeholders, such as other local authorities, transport agencies, and utility contractor companies, to ensure compliance. Acting as the County Council representative at Regional JAG / HAUC and national meetings as required.

 

About you:

 

As the Compliance Manager, you will play a vital role as a member of our Street works team, you will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, bodies and companies.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in Street works, with a strong understanding of relevant systems, regulations and principles. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, combined with interpersonal abilities, are essential.

Proficiency in relevant street works software is required, and the ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions is crucial. A professional qualified in Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
