You’ll join a team that works together, shares ideas, and values creativity. We partner with leaders and colleagues across the organisation to make sure every message counts. You’ll see the results of your work every day—helping shape decisions, improve staff engagement, and strengthen community relationships.
About the Role
As a Communications Business Adviser: Digital Engagement, you will help lead the council’s digital engagement work, ensuring our websites, intranet, social media and digital channels meet user needs, support digital transformation and deliver real value for residents and the organisation.
Working across the council, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering strategic communications, contributing to the council’s overall communications strategy and annual communications plan. You’ll act as a gatekeeper for our digital platforms, leading development, improvement and innovation while ensuring accessibility, usability and best practice are embedded throughout.
About You
You are an experienced digital communications professional with a strong track record of developing, delivering and evaluating digital engagement work, ideally within a complex or public‑sector environment. You understand how to use digital channels to support organisational change and improve user experience.
You are confident leading projects, managing contracts and working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders. You can translate technical or complex information into clear, accessible communications and champion best practice in areas such as online writing, accessibility, user experience and emerging digital trends.
You bring a creative mindset, balanced with the resilience and organisation needed to perform in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience, you have the credibility and capability to operate at pace and with impact.
