Are you passionate about supporting high-quality Adult Social Care services? Gloucestershire County Council is seeking  Commissioning Support Officers to join our dynamic Integrated Brokerage & Market Management team.
 

About the Role
 

We are looking for two full-time Commissioning Support Officers: 1 role is a permanent contract, and 1 role is a fixed-term contract for 9 months (maternity cover).

 

In this role, you will play a critical part in the end-to-end process of sourcing packages of care and support for older adults and adults with disabilities and/or ongoing health needs. This process is called ‘brokerage’. This role is about working directly with Adult Social Care (ASC) providers and other stakeholders specifically to ensure smooth payment processes, contract compliance, and business continuity after care and support has been brokered

 

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of ASC providers, monitoring their financial and performance data, and ensuring timely communication to resolve any issues that arise.

 

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Payment Processing: Ensure timely and accurate payments to ASC providers for services commissioned by the Council.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with provider representatives and key stakeholders to support contract and market management.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Use electronic systems to track provider performance and financial data, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Support and Advice: Proactively offer guidance and resolve issues for providers within your portfolio, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records, both digital and paper-based, following departmental policies.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams to support continuous improvement of processes and system functions.

About You

 

 Your experience will include:

  • Proficient use of electronic systems to manage data;
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and
  • Experience in processing financial information and ensuring accuracy.

You will be:

  • Confident with numerical data and financial processes  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word);
  •  a keen problem-solver, with the ability to work independently; and
  • a clear, positive and diplomatic communicator, able to engage with a range of stakeholders inside and outside the Council..
