Are you ready for a new challenge and looking for the next step in your career?

The Integrated Brokerage Team based in Gloucestershire County Council is looking for an enthusiastic Administrator to join our busy and friendly system support section.

About the role:

Integrated Brokerage is responsible for sourcing Adult Social Care services from external care providers both within and beyond Gloucestershire. Together with other teams within the Council and partner organisations, we play a key part in monitoring and paying for those services along with managing the market to ensure market availability and sustainability into the future.

In this role you’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive team of people currently office based in Shire Hall. Our team is dedicated to managing and overseeing the independent provider market for older people and working-age adults. In this role, you will primarily provide administrative support to contract and senior managers. You will collaborate with the broader Brokerage team and colleagues across Adult Social Care to investigate and resolve queries, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the queries inbox. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining provider information and working with various GCC IT systems. Strong IT skills, particularly extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, are essential for this position. We all work hard and have a common interest in supporting vulnerable people and the organisations we have commissioned to provide them with care and support.

Please also note the wider Brokerage team provides cover over seven days to support hospital discharge and respond to emergent situations, therefore occasional weekend working from home may be required but rarely in this role and this comes with time off in lieu and an enhanced rate of pay.

About you:

To excel in this role, strong IT skills and confident communication are essential. You will need to be proactive, with a sharp eye for detail and problem-solving abilities, especially when working with data and online systems. A major responsibility will be managing our shared mailbox and worktrays, ensuring timely distribution and escalation of incoming correspondence. Being organised and aware of team priorities is crucial, as is the ability to follow up both in writing and over the phone, adjusting your communication style to meet the needs of different stakeholders. Financial acumen, along with experience in handling financial processes and sensitive records, will also be key aspects of your daily responsibilities.
