About the role:

 

We have a permanent, full time vacancy for a Co-Production Lead role within in our Practice Development Team, based in the heart of the city of Gloucester, with great access routes to the M5.

The Practice Development Team work is in support of the work of the Principal Social Worker who maintains strategic oversight of the Practice Development Team.

 

As the GCC ASC Co-Production Lead, you will work closely with the Principal Social Worker and the wider Practice Development Team to raise the profile of, and our commitment to, genuine and meaningful Co-Production with Experts by Experience and their carers across Adult Social Care. You will support with the effective delivery of workforce Co-Production practice and development initiatives, together with a range of partnership working and support of the 6 Partnership Boards currently being supported within Gloucestershire

 

As the Co-Production Lead, you will be expected to promote a culture of continuous learning and development, professional curiosity, encouraging accountability and role modelling these in your own best practice. You will lead on the development of Co-Production within Gloucestershire County Council and engage with national and other local forums to take best practice and learning and replicate here in Gloucestershire.

 

The post offers a mix of office, community and home working. We have free offsite car parking when working at Shire Hall.

 

 

About you:

 

As Co-Production Champions, we understand the work you do on a daily basis and provide the support you need to make a difference to the people of Gloucestershire. To join us, you must have a passion for Co-Production and be skilled in implementing participation and co-production approaches. We also expect you to have an understanding of and empathy for the experiences of adults with mental health issues, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with a physical disability, with sensory impairments or other neurodiversity’s.

 

In addition, we are seeking a candidate with the following skill sets and experience:

 

  • Considerable experience of working, preferably with adults, in a statutory setting
  • Extensive experience of undertaking engagement activities, using hypotheses and options to review and inform judgement and decision making
  • Writing reports for a range of functions
  • Engaging with people in fluctuating circumstances and capacities
  • Chairing meetings and communicating skilfully and confidently in complex situations
  • Applying critical reflection and analysis to increasingly complex situations
  • Supporting the practice of others, either through mentoring new practitioners or newly qualified social workers, or through undertaking continuous professional development activities
