About The Team & Role: 

 

You will work on traffic engineering projects for urban and rural areas, from design to construction, under the Principal Engineer’s management and supervision. You will use design standards and software to produce high-quality design solutions and drawings. You will produce contract documents including cost estimates and specifications.

 

You will produce highway infrastructure designs that improve road safety and journeys for walking, cycling and other means of sustainable travel. You will learn to derive solutions that are innovative and cost-effective. As required you will undertake the role of site supervisor during the construction phase.

 

You will support the delivery of Traffic Regulation Orders to ensure the legal requirements of design proposals are met. You will undertake relevant processes to ensure the successful implementation of project including, the NRSWA process. You will liaise with other GCC teams to meet stakeholder needs.

About You:

 

You have experience as a designer in highway and traffic engineering designer. You will be proficient in AutoCAD and other technical design software, ability to apply current Health and Safety and CDM regulations to your work.

 

You will have knowledge of relevant highway design standards and guidance and understand the principles of sustainable travel and equal opportunities. You will have the capability to supervise colleagues, find solutions to operational challenges, and work well under pressure.

 

If you have limited experience in highway design, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering with some experience of the use of AutoCad and knowledge and awareness of design standards.
