About the Team and Role
An opportunity has arisen to join the Definitive Map Modification Orders (DMMO) team within Highway Records at Gloucestershire County Council. The team is looking for an Asset Data (DMMO) Technician to support the work of the Team, based at Shire Hall in Gloucester.
The role will be to assist in the processing of applications to modify the legal record of the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way. The work includes issuing application packs; accurate record keeping & maintaining the online Register; and answering enquiries from applicants & members of the public. The successful applicant will be additionally assisting Officers with consultations, research, and Committees & Public Inquiries. The role also involves updating information on the National Street Gazetteer, the County GIS system (QGIS) and the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way.
Whilst the Council is an Equal Opportunities employer, the role will require the undertaking of path surveys, which may, on occasion, require long walks over uneven terrain.
About You
You should be thorough and methodical, with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel. Experience of public rights of way, historical research and GIS (QGIS) would be desirable.
You must hold a current, full driving licence which is valid for driving in the UK. You must also be prepared and able to travel independently around the county for purposes of site visits.
