Gloucestershire County Council is looking to recruit an Area Highways Technician to join our Team to help deliver highway maintenance works. As an Area Highways Technician, you will make a real difference to peoples' everyday lives, work in an operational depot and be the first point of contact for the community on highway related matters. From helping with winter gritting, supporting our work force on site, and delivering the Council's statutory highway duties – all to keep Gloucestershire moving, safely. Candidates should have relevant experience in highways, emergency management and be committed to excellent customer service.

 

 

About The Team & Role 


Are you looking for exciting new challenge working with the Area Highway Team in our Highway Depots assisting in the maintenance and management of the highway network?


By joining the team, you’ll help make a real difference as a Technician in our Stroudwater Depot Team near Stonehouse, by supporting our Local Highway Managers & Area Highway Representatives, offering advice and help to customers and our works contractors. You will be joining an established team, who make valuable contributions to the maintenance of the highways in our community.
 


About You


As an Area Highways Technician, you will act as the frontline customer interface for Highways related contact within a designated geographical area. Your customer-focused nature and communication skills will help build working relationships with your customers & stakeholders. To be successful you will need excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure our service levels are maintained. You’ll also bring your highways knowledge to help deliver highway maintenance works.
