About The Team & Role
Come and work for a rewarding organisation. You will be joining our friendly and efficient Business Admin Team that provides a comprehensive and diverse administrative support service to several of the operational teams in the Education and Disabilities Hub. Ideally the postholder will work Wednesday mornings, and, all day Thursday and Friday.
About You
To be successful you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high standard of IT skills with experience of using a wide range of systems and packages, and sound collaboration and organisational skills to enable you to work with colleagues to prioritise workloads and ensure that our statutory and departmental deadlines are met.
You will be customer-focused and able to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, which include schools, other public sector services, children's services, colleges, parents, early years settings, employers and suppliers.
You will be required to undertake a wide range of administrative duties including:
Monitoring generic mailboxes and responding to customer enquiries and service referrals via email and telephone.
Administration of virtual and face to face training and events using GCCPlus and Big Blue Button.
Accurately creating and updating electronic records using spreadsheets and databases including Excel, Capita and Liquid Logic.
Working to deadlines to meet statutory requirements around issuing licences, permits and penalty notices.
Arranging meetings, interviews, including note taking, circulating documents/notes and forward planning using Capita, Outlook and MS Teams.
Processing purchase order requests and invoices using SAP, recording income and expenditure and supporting end of financial year procedures.
A positive and flexible approach to team working to include providing cover for other administrators' leave and cross-team support at peak work periods as required.
The role is based at Shire Hall in Gloucester. Initially office-based full time while you undertake induction and training, there will be an opportunity to hybrid work using GCC’s secure IT equipment. You will be required to work from the office for 1 to 2 days every week and home working is subject to the needs of the service being met.
