We are seeking a new administrator to come and join our small friendly team!

About the role:

We have a full time, permanent Administrator role in our Adult Support Services - Care Services Finance (CSF) Team. Our role is an important part of supporting the care sector as we work with people receiving a service and their families to ensure they are fairly assessed and pay what is needed for the care they and their loved ones receive.

You will be confident working on the telephone with members of the public. Some of the role will be phone based, as you will take incoming enquiries from the public, therefore you must be confident in answering the phone and have an excellent telephone manner. This role does not involve 'cold calling' and all training will be given to ensure you succeed.

As well as having administration experience, you will have IT skills and English and Maths GCSE Grade A-C / Grade 9-4 (or equivalent) and ideally an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Service (or equivalent administration or customer service experience). Whilst administration skills are important, perhaps more importantly we want team members who reflect our values of respect, integrity and excellence when working for the individuals we support and providing excellent customer service.

In return we provide a supportive workplace where you will receive regular formal and informal support. We offer flexible working with a mix of office and home working – there would be a need to be in the office in Shire Hall, Gloucester for a minimum of two days a week once you've received sufficient training. We have free offsite car parking when working at Shire Hall.

You will find more information about the role and the skills and experience we are looking for in the Job Profile below. Please write your application bearing this in mind and provide examples of how you meet the skills and experience we are looking for.

About us:

As part of the rewards package you will receive when working with us, Gloucestershire County Council provides the following in return for your hard work:

  • Annual leave of 25.5 days, increasing to 30.5 days after 5 years employment, plus Bank Holidays
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Regular formal and informal support
  • Safe, supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision
  • Access to training and workshops
  • Staff discount scheme that offers access to great savings including discounts with major supermarket chains and high street retailers
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network
