About the team/role
The County Council is looking to recruit a Design Engineer who will work alongside our Senior Design Engineers, working on carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes.
Design Engineers have input at every stage of the process from initial scheme selection using condition data, right through to final measuring of completed works.
The role also supports the wider highways team by providing both treatment advice and cost estimates for potential works. Assisting these teams to make investment decisions.
About You
As Design Engineer you will be supporting the Structural Maintenance Team, operating right across the County. There is a variety of work estimating future scheme costs, ordering works from our Resurfacing and Term Maintenance Contacts as well as carrying out site checks during delivery phase.
You should have relevant experience in highways work including emergency management and be committed to excellent customer service.
