About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Officer to join our team, supporting access to education services including school admissions, home to school transport, and free school meals.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll help ensure children and young people – especially those from vulnerable backgrounds – can fairly access education and support services. You’ll play a key part in delivering a high-quality, family-focused service and contribute to improving outcomes for children and young people. 

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Administer processes relating to school admissions, transport and pupil benefits
  • Assess eligibility for services such as free school meals and transport support
  • Provide advice and guidance to parents and carers, including those who may need additional support navigating services
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, producing reports where required
  • Handle enquiries, correspondence, and complex casework
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver joined-up services

 

About You

We’re looking for someone who is customer-focused, resilient, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a public-facing or customer-focused environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex information clearly
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage detailed administrative processes
  • Experience maintaining accurate data and using IT systems effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 

the role is full time but part time hours will be considered
