About the team/role

The County Council is looking to recruit an Assistant Engineer who will work alongside our Design Engineers, working on carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes.

Assistant Engineers work focuses mainly on initial scheme selection. Visiting sites to validate condition data, suggesting and costing of remedial treatment types and producing cost estimates. This information is essential as it is used to formulate the capital programme each year

The role also supports the wider highways team by providing both treatment advice and cost estimates for potential works.

 

About You 

As Assistant Engineer you will be supporting the Structural Maintenance Team, operating right across the County. There is a variety of work, checking data, estimating future scheme costs, as well as auditing contractor performance and carrying out site checks during delivery phase.

You should have relevant experience in highways work including emergency management and be committed to excellent customer service.
