About The Team & Role

Gloucester Shopmobility, located in Gloucester City Centre is a vital mobility service for residents and visitors of Gloucester.

The service is looking to recruit a part-time Shopmobility Team Leader to manage the service on a day-to-day basis. Working 14.8 hours a week across 2 days a week (every Monday and one other day to be agreed), you will ensure that scooters and wheelchairs are available to hire during the 4 days that the service is open (Monday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday).

You will manage a small team, ensuring that all team members are fully trained and competent in the delivery of the Shopmobility service. You will work alongside your team in this front-facing service ensuring that customers are confident in the use of Shopmobility equipment and resolve any issues as they arise. As Team Leader, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the service. This includes working with other council departments such as asset management, finance, and the rest of the culture team.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and conscientious individual to join our dedicated Shopmobility team. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of customers are a must for this role. You will have experience of people management and undertaking all personnel related tasks. You will have the confidence to propose changes to the service for the benefit of the organisation and its users. Part of the role will be computer based as memberships need processing, payments need to be taken and daily reporting of the service is required. You will be proactive with a positive attitude to delivering great customer service, who can convey enthusiasm for the City of Gloucester.

The main Shopmobility office is indoors but the main part of the service is delivered outdoors, therefore you must be prepared to work in all weathers.
