About the Team & Role

This role is an integral part of a busy and dynamic team working within Adult Social Care Commissioning. As a Commissioning Officer (Quality) you will hold an agreed caseload of providers, for whom you will act as the primary contact on quality assurance matters. You will be responsible for carrying out quality assurance assessments in line with agreed processes, supporting improvements and taking action where appropriate. The caseload of providers for this post is primarily across the Gloucester and Forest of Dean localities of the county but travel outside of these areas will sometimes be required. 

The role is varied and two days are rarely ever the same! You will work with organisations who provide vital services for older people, people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, autism, physical and sensory disabilities to ensure high-quality health & social care and support is delivered and maintained. The role will also provide opportunity to work alongside system partners such as social care operations, safeguarding, the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). 

 

About You 

To be successful you will need experience of working within health and/or social care services. You will have a strong practical knowledge of the practices required to operate safe and compliant adult social care services.  You will be familiar and confident of working with a multi-disciplinary approach in order to manage and mitigate risk. You will have a keen eye for detail and be able to apply judgement and objectivity, often in in complex and difficult situations. It is key you have great communication skills and are comfortable liaising with stakeholders across the sector, often having to lead and direct challenging conversations in order to support and coordinate improvement. Most importantly you will act as an advocate for team and organisational aims, ensuring that the ambition of continuous service improvement and high-quality services for all of Gloucestershire's vulnerable adult population is at the heart of all you do.
