About the team & role

The client affairs team manage the property and financial affairs of vulnerable adults in Gloucestershire under the authority of the court of protection. Demand for this service is growing and an opportunity has become available for a well organised and committed individual to visit some of the people we support, and to assist with protecting their unoccupied property. We are an agile working organisation and can offer a combination of office-based working, client visits, and working from home (essential equipment is provided).

This is a new role supporting the wider team with statutory client visits – visiting clients in residential care homes, supporting living placements and in their own homes, as well as conducting protection of property visits to make sure any unoccupied properties are secure and properly maintained. We envisage that half of the working week will be spent visiting around Gloucestershire; the rest of time you will spend writing up visit reports, sorting through financial paperwork and other valuable items, and organising visits for the following week.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable adults, be well organised and able to efficiently manage their own workload, possess great IT skills and be a confident communicator. People who join our team tend to stay with us; although demanding, the work is interesting and rewarding and we can offer the right person the chance to undertake a level 3 vocational qualification.

As you will be required to visit throughout the county a valid driving licence will be needed. If using your own car you will be reimbursed mileage expenses. The council also provides access to a number of Pool Cars, partakes in the Cycle to Work scheme, and can provide access to a brand new low emission car via the Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&C's apply).

About us

As part of the team in return for your hard work you will receive:

  • Flexible and agile working opportunities
  • Annual leave entitlement of 24.5 days rising to 29.5 after 5 years continuous service (pro rata)
  • Supportive and positive working environment
  • Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network.
